How We Work

Sitegraphics designs and build websites. We work with each client using a 7 step process that allows clients to know and understand exactly what decisions have to made and what phase of the process we are working on at any given time.

Step 1 is the need to learn the reason that you want to be on the Internet and what goals you hope to achieve using the Internet. Our conversation would answer any questions you might have about working with us, the costs that would occur in building a site and even whether a website is right for you.

Step 2 is that all important discussion with you to best understand your busines. This will help us determine it's strengths and advantages and ultimately assist us in recommending the best marketing direction for your new site.

Step 3 is an explanation of website options. Depending on your business or service, a site can be as simple as one page or a multi-paged site complete with interactivity. We will need to know if you will be providing your own copy or whether you wish to have copy written as part of the project. Additionally, we will want to know whether you have ownership of any relevant artwork (i.e. logos, etc), and photography that you might consider necessary to include in your new Internet site.

Step 5 is coming back to you with a site proposal which includes a site diagram to help you visualize the scope of the project, a description of the work to be done, and of course a quote for designing, building and if necessary, the writing of copy for your site. This will also include a reasonable payment schedule.

Every step of the design and construction of your site is carefully planned and coordinated with our client.

Step 5 begins when you have given approval to the project. We will begin developing the design or the look of your new site. This usually includes at least two ot three design suggestions for the home page and one example of a "drill down" or inside page that thematically or graphically reflects the look of each home page design submitted.

Step 6 begins when a design has been selected. We then proceed with the development of artwork, if necessary, copy approval, the search of stock photography - usually recommended (unless provided by client), and the retouching and the processing of photography as needed. This work obviously depends on the requirements of the design selected.

Step 7. Once a the work of Step 6 has been completed, we go to the all-important work of Step 7- the coding of the site. This simply means that we write the necessary Internet code or computer language that allows all of your website content to appear as designed on all the Internet browsers, on any computer screen. At the completion of this work, before we actually place the site out there for everyone to see, we arrange for you to try out or test the site on your own computer(s) for any final alterations and final approval.

Step 8 is the placing of your new site on the Internet for all to see. Please go to the Domains and Providers page for an explanation of how this is accomplished.
